The Lady Panthers opened the season with a scrappy College Park Academy. Coach Watson stated that his team really didn’t get a good start partly being the 1st game of the season and everyone being nervous. We struggled a lot in the first 4 minutes of the 1st quarter. Our younger and veteran guard play could have been more aggressive but they came around within the last 3 minutes of the 1st qtr. ending 20-5.

Everyone woke up and began to play in the 2nd qtr. by outscoring them again 19-8. We also left a lot points on the floor shooting 32-15 from the line. We are a very good free throw shooting team but have do better from the line. We did well rebounding the ball while pulling down 44 (15 offensive and 28 defensive) boards collectively, lead by Nycerra Minnis a junior. As the season goes on I feel that they will settle down and compete but most importantly have fun doing it.

Kelsey Vallair lead the team with 17 pts, 3 rebs and 2 assist. Melanie Aguilar-Domingez scored 11pts, 3 asst., India Thompson 9 pts, 10 rebs, Ymani Davis 8 pts, 3 rebs, Nycerra Minnis 7pts, 12 rebs, Lynette Manful 6 pts, 9 rebs, Ogechi Onyekwere 5 pts, 7 rebs and J’Kaylah Beasley 2 pts and 2 assit.
